The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), and airlines of the "Aerokhimflot" aviation alliance have concluded a tripartite contract for the supply of 50 LMS-901 Baikal aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled from 2027 to 2031.
UZGA will act as the aircraft manufacturer in the deal, and GTLK will ensure their transfer to the alliance's airlines under leasing with state support at preferential rates. At the initial stage, the starting operators of the LMS-901 Baikal will be four enterprises of the "Aerokhimflot" alliance.
Work for UZGA
The serial order will ensure long-term workload for aircraft manufacturers and will contribute to the development of high-tech competencies. Serious tasks are being solved, which are now a priority for Russian industry and for regional transport development, noted Mikhail Parnev, General Director of GTLK.
Wide Purpose of "Baikal"
It is assumed that the aircraft will be used in search and rescue operations, aerial photography, forestry aviation, and transport and communication work.
