Yakovlev specialists conducted successful tests to measure changes in pressure on the wing surface and wing deformation in flight, according to Mikhail Sagaydak, leading specialist of the aerodynamic characteristics department, and his colleague Vladislav Tyurin, leading flight test engineer - onboard operator.
The company emphasized that the tests were successful.
The aircraft was equipped with systems for distributing pressure over the surface and systems for measuring wing deformation in flight.
Yakovlev clarified that the purpose of the tests is to validate calculation methods for determining the aerodynamic twist of the wing and to use the data obtained for designing new aircraft.
