The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has already assembled four prototypes of the new LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft, said Elvira Kireeva, Director of Small Aviation Programs at JSC "UZGA".
Specialists face a difficult task - to create completely import-independent aircraft called "Baikal". Parts are produced and fuselages are assembled in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The last similar project in the 40s of the last century was the An-2 - the famous " кукурузник".
To date, four prototypes of the aircraft have been manufactured. In this case, you have a static board in front of you. What you saw is practically the fourth prototype, which will be the third flight one.
"Baikal" is a new transport aircraft that will be in demand for sparsely populated areas of the Far East and the Far North. The vessel will also be useful for cargo transportation and ambulance aviation.
