Two Russian Be-200 amphibious firefighting aircraft will remain in Turkey to extinguish forest fires at least until the beginning of September, RIA Novosti was told by a source familiar with the situation. The crews of the aircraft have already been replaced.
The planes are based at an airfield in Izmir and fly to all incoming assignments, working in different regions of Turkey. The first two Be-200s arrived in the southwest of the country in June.
