Авиационный насос для МС-21, SJ-100 и Ту-214 стал на 17% легче

Engineers managed to achieve this result through 3D printing technologies and an improved design

Scientists from Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU), through 3D printing technologies and an improved design, have found a way to reduce the weight of an aircraft pump by 17%.

The weight of the product has been reduced by 3.7 kg. Specialists have modernized the manufacturing technology and design in such a way as to reduce the number of operations required for production, reduce weight, as well as the time for thermal and mechanical processing.

In the new pump design, they abandoned the constant pressure valve due to the promising design of the safety valve, in which high pressure inside is provided without an additional unit.

The engineers also moved the valve, magnetic trap, and filter, which better distributed the weight and improved the cleaning of the working fluid.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the MC-21 aircraft flew for the first time to test navigation systems as a regular aircraft.
