A rare 1951 ZiS-110B convertible is up for sale in Kazakhstan for 99 million rubles. This unique example of the Soviet automotive industry is a parade limousine, restored using original parts.
The convertible is painted in an elegant gray-blue color and is part of a batch of 270 "open" limousines produced. These cars were first presented to the public after Stalin's death in 1953.
The ZiS-110B was the first post-war Soviet car with a folding top. However, the roof design was quite complex, requiring about half an hour to remove or install it. Due to discomfort in cold weather, convertibles were mainly used for ceremonial events and meetings with foreign leaders.
The ZiS-110B was equipped with a 6.0-liter, 140-horsepower inline-eight engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission.
The unique Soviet convertible has traveled only 100 km.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the rarest convertible based on the VAZ-2108 is being sold in the USA.
