A technical launch of the new section of the Troitskaya metro line from the "Novatorskaya" station to "ZIL" took place in Moscow. This is the final stage before the stations open to passengers.
The length of the new section is 9.7 kilometers. It includes four stations: "Vavilovskaya", "Akademicheskaya", "Krymskaya" and "ZIL". They are planned to open to passengers for the City Day, which is celebrated on September 6 and 7 in 2025. The "ZIL" station will provide a transfer to the MCC and the Biryulyovskaya metro line, at "Krymskaya" a transfer to the MCC will also be available, and from "Akademicheskaya" to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. The transfer to the BCL is already operating at "Novatorskaya".
The launch of this section will improve transport accessibility in seven districts of the capital at once. Thanks to this, more than 600 thousand Muscovites will get a metro station closer to their home or place of work.
At the same time, the southern section of the Troitskaya line is being designed - from "Novomoskovskaya" to Troitsk. In the future, the line should connect Troitsk directly to the MCC via the "ZIL" station.
