Rare right-hand drive VAZ-2105, idle for almost 20 years, for sale in the UK

The export Lada Riva sedan is valued at 1000 pounds

A rare 1992 Lada Riva sedan, an export version of the VAZ-2105 with right-hand drive, has been put up for sale in the UK. The car was found in an abandoned parking lot, where it had been sitting for many years, losing much of its appearance.

The seller valued the car at 1000 British pounds — approximately 95 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate. Despite its unusual history and rarity in the British market, no buyers have yet been found for the car.

Judging by the published photos, the sedan's body is not in the best condition: signs of long-term idleness, corrosion, and general wear are visible. However, the car remains completely original, including the right-hand drive layout, which AvtoVAZ produced specifically for export to the UK and some other countries.

The Lada Riva was officially sold in the British market in the 1980s and early 1990s. These cars were valued for their simple design, affordable price, and cheap maintenance. However, over time, the model practically disappeared from the country's roads, so surviving examples are extremely rare today.

Interest in old Lada models in Europe is gradually growing. Collectors are increasingly paying attention to export versions of Soviet cars, especially when it comes to unusual modifications like right-hand drive sedans for the British market.
