At the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec), work is underway to assemble a set of MC-21 passenger aircraft.
Specialists of workshop 205 are working on three main fuselage sections — F1, F2 and F4A, upon completion of the work, the units will be sent to a specialized workshop for painting, and then to final assembly.
The F2 compartment is at the initial stage of assembly. Now, in workshop 205, the riveting of the longitudinal joint of sections 2 and 3 is being carried out. Further, according to the technological cycle, the following stages are the installation of fasteners along the floor grid, the laying of section 1, the implementation of positioning, the riveting of the longitudinal joints of section 1 with sections 2 and 3, the installation of the emergency door opening and, in parallel, the installation of parts of the luggage compartment.
At the end, compartment F2 will be sent for further assembly and joining with other elements of the MC-21 fuselage structure. Compartment F1 is also being assembled in workshop 205. All three of its sections have already been laid in the general assembly slipway. In three weeks, this unit will be prepared for transfer to workshop 208, where aviation parts and units are prepared, painted and dried.
