The newest Russian MC-21 aircraft will be cheaper for airlines than Boeing and Airbus. This assumption was made by aviation industry analyst Roman Gusarov.
According to him, the list price of the latest Boeing 737 Max is about 117 million dollars. But in reality, this does not matter to airlines.
Airlines do not buy cars, but lease them — a long-term lease with a fixed monthly payment. Therefore, the leasing rate is important for carriers, not the cost of the aircraft. It is calculated using a complex formula, and it takes into account not only the price of the aircraft, but also the interest rate on the loan under which the car was purchased, as well as insurance and expenses for maintaining airworthiness, maintenance, repair and spare parts.
Gusarov suggested looking at the final program that will be offered to Aeroflot from the side of the lessor, and at the support from the state.
