Аналогов ему нет: авиакомпании не могут «отпустить» самолет, которому почти 50 лет

Yak-40 is used for VIP flights and air ambulance

The proposed extension of the Yak-40's service life will preserve an aircraft in the aviation industry that currently has no analogues. This was reported by Pavel Serikov, Deputy Director of the Engineering and Aviation Service of KrasAvia Airlines.

Earlier, the Rosaviatsiya press service reported that Yakovlev plans to extend the service life of Yak-40 passenger aircraft from 50 to 60 years. In total, about fifteen Yak-40 aircraft are currently in operation in Russia.

The KrasAvia airline fleet has the only Yak-40 aircraft in a business lounge configuration. It is used for air ambulance and VIP flights. The aircraft was manufactured in 1978 and will be 47 years old in November. Of course, we are pleased with the extension of the service life, as there are no analogues of this type of aircraft today.

At the same time, he noted that the aircraft will be operated less due to difficulties with the repair of the main units.

Earlier www1.ru reported that UAC increased the capacity of SSJ-100 aircraft thanks to a new 100-seat layout.
