Russian airlines will begin to receive the domestic import-substituted MC-21-310 aircraft with PD-14 engines in November 2026. This was reported by the publication "Tekhnosfera Rossiya."
The authors of the material noted that the improvement of the power plant is a routine process that accompanies the testing process of any aircraft engine. According to their results, it is always necessary to increase the engine life, increase fuel efficiency, reduce weight, optimize production processes to reduce the labor intensity and material consumption of manufacturing parts, as well as achieve an additional reduction in noise levels.
The work is scheduled in three stages, the key one being the third, which is allocated approximately one year - from November 2026 to December 2027. It is at this stage that the results of the initial operation of the MC-21 will be analyzed. That is, in November 2026, the MC-21 can be expected to be in operation with carriers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that there was a huge queue for the import-substituted MC-21, so the planes will have to wait.
