FESCO Transport Group (part of Rosatom's management circuit) has launched its first sea voyage from St. Petersburg to Turkey, the company's press service reported. The vessel will deliver Russian export goods to the ports of Ambarli (Istanbul) and Gebze, and will take on containers with Turkish imports on the return journey.

To develop the route, the company intends to make the voyages regular, using several container ships. This will provide clients from both countries with an alternative delivery option in both directions.

The launch of the new route is related to the situation in the Black Sea, where vessels operating with Russian ports are increasingly subjected to drone attacks. FESCO previously suspended accepting new applications for services through Novorossiysk, and then announced the reorientation of cargo traffic to St. Petersburg and the Far East. Currently, major shipping lines, including Turkish ones, are also redirecting vessels to the northwestern route.
