Russian military personnel have for the first time shown footage of the combat use of new Geran-4 Seeker attack drones in pairs. The work was carried out with a real-time control system, analysts from “Voennaya Khronika” noted.
According to them, the further increase in the number of simultaneously operating drones depends on a stable channel for control, navigation, and data exchange.
All that remains is to wait for the appearance of the Rassvet satellite constellation — and things will go much faster.
Specialists recalled the new satellite constellation, which is just beginning its development. Analysts emphasized that Rassvet is capable of providing the military sphere with much more than just broadband internet access.
The main feature of such a program is that investments and work on it force the simultaneous solution of problems of mass production, microelectronics, radio communications, optics, software network control, and cheap access to space.
The Rassvet satellite constellation by Bureau 1440 began to provide several hours of stable communication per day, it was reported in early August.
12 out of 16 satellites launched in late March reached an operating altitude of about 550 km. Three more devices continue to gain altitude, one satellite was lost due to a manufacturing defect.
The Geran-4 Seeker attack drone can fly at an altitude of up to 5 km, which is inaccessible to interceptor drones and a number of anti-aircraft missile systems, military expert Yuri Knutov noted.
