"Bureau 1440" (part of "X Holding") is expanding its low-Earth orbit constellation for the "Rassvet" project to provide new generation communication services (5G). The second package launch of spacecraft took place recently, the press service of the private aerospace company told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
After reaching an intermediate orbit, the satellites separated from the launch vehicle and established communication with the "Bureau 1440" Mission Control Center (MCC).
After completing checks and commissioning, the satellites will begin their transition to the target orbit.
The launches of the experimental satellites "Rassvet-1" and "Rassvet-2" took place in 2023 and 2024. Mass deployment of spacecraft (16 units) began in the spring of 2026.
In June 2026, one of the satellites experienced an engine malfunction, preventing it from reaching its target altitude and causing it to deorbit. Object 4 entered the dense layers of the atmosphere and burned up. The remaining 15 satellites are operating normally.
By 2030, the number of serial spacecraft for the "Rassvet" project is expected to increase to 290-300. Commercial operation will begin in 2027.
