Developers from St. Petersburg presented "Karakurt-1" - an all-terrain vehicle with Russian roots

The use of components from Logan and "Niva" simplifies operation and reduces costs

The "Momentum" production group from St. Petersburg has officially registered a patent for the appearance of its new lightweight all-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle — "Karakurt-1". The machine was developed taking into account the maximum unification of components and assemblies already used in the Russian automotive industry.

The transmission is based on an automatic gearbox, paired with a 57-horsepower diesel engine. The designers actively used domestically produced components: for example, the stamped wheel disks are borrowed from the second generation Renault Logan.

In addition to the basic version, the company also introduced an extended modification — "Karakurt-2". Depending on the configuration, it can be equipped with either a 1.6-liter Minsk Motor Plant MMZ 3LD diesel engine or a VAZ-21214 (1.7 L) gasoline engine, known from the "Niva" family of cars.

According to company representatives, this approach to design not only reduces production costs, but also ensures ease of maintenance and availability of spare parts in conditions of limited logistics.
