The latest Russian fifth-generation Su-57E fighter is capable of engaging in maneuverable air combat with transitions to critical modes while carrying heavy long-range air-to-surface missiles for destroying radar stations (RCS). This was announced by the chief pilot of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, Sergei Bogdan.
According to him, the presence of weapons of this class on board imposes very serious restrictions on any aircraft in terms of angle of attack, g-load, and maneuverability. For example, at the Dubai Airshow, the Su-57E crew showed the world that the fighter jet carries four missiles.
Two air-to-air missiles and two long-range air-to-surface missiles for destroying RCS. These missiles are quite heavy, and the aircraft has become significantly heavier.
Bogdan emphasized that even with such weapons, the fighter can engage in maneuverable air combat with transitions to critical modes.
We demonstrate all aerobatic maneuvers in full, and the aircraft is fully armed. This is the highlight.
Earlier it became known that the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally inspected the Su-57E at the Dubai Airshow - 2025 international exhibition. The Sheikh even looked into the cockpit of the combat aircraft from a special observation deck.
