Footage of a Soviet-made T-62 tank has appeared online. The combat vehicle stands out due to the absence of a 115-mm gun, but the turret is preserved. Apparently, this particular model is being used as a heavy armored personnel carrier.
In the now-vacant former fighting compartment, benches are usually installed, on which several soldiers can sit.
To defend against drones, slat screens and a massive "barbecue grill" are used, covering the sides and the front upper frontal part.
As a reminder, the 37-ton T-62 was adopted into service in the USSR in 1961. Initially, tanks of this version were equipped with V-shaped diesel engines with a capacity of 580 hp.
Later, they were replaced with more powerful V-46-5M engines with a capacity of 690 hp, allowing them to accelerate to 27 km/h on "dirt roads", and up to 50 km/h on highways.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the manufacturer of Su-57 fighters put unique equipment into operation.
