Первый за 14 лет паром из Турции в РФ так и не смог пришвартоваться в Сочи

The Seabridge vessel spent more than two days off the coast and returned to Trabzon due to lack of flight approval and security concerns

The first ferry from Turkey to Russia in 14 years failed to disembark passengers in Sochi. The vessel Seabridge, which departed from Trabzon on the evening of November 5, approached the coast after 12 hours and stood waiting to dock. There were 18 Russian citizens and two Turkish citizens on board.

However, the vessel did not receive permission to enter the port. According to the authorities of the Krasnodar Territory, the flight was not agreed with the Russian side, and the decision not to allow the ferry into the port was explained by security concerns. After more than two days of waiting, Seabridge left Russian waters and headed back to Turkey.

The organizers of the flight said that they intend to settle all the formalities and repeat the attempt in the near future. According to them, the interest in sea communication between Trabzon and Sochi turned out to be higher than expected, and the launch of a regular ferry route could contribute to the development of tourism and trade between the countries.
