China has begun mass production of the Type 100 main battle tank with artificial intelligence modules. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev stated that the combat vehicle is an analogue of the domestic T-14 Armata project.
The new Chinese tank is equipped with optical, infrared, and radar sensors integrated into a single communication network.
During the new complex exercises, the Type 100 operated in conjunction with reactive artillery systems, electronic warfare units, and reconnaissance drones. At the same time, the tank retained a relatively light and mobile design, sacrificing armor mass and gun caliber.
The unmanned turret also made it possible to increase the ammunition load and reduce the weight of the tank - according to the same principle that was previously used in the Russian T-14 project.
The hull and turret are made of irregular polygonal panels, which reduces the likelihood of being hit. However, unlike Western, Russian, and Korean tanks, the Type 100 crew is housed in armored capsules inside the hull.
How many T-14s were actually produced in Russia is officially unknown. The media suggested that there areno more than 50 units, as well as several heavy BMPT T-15s based on them and a single number of T-16 repair and evacuation vehicles on the same platform. Instead of "Armata",Russia is preparing a new tank - T-90M2 "Ryvok-1".
