Легендарный БАЗ возвращается: «Алмаз-Антей» запускает производство тяжёлых грузовиков в Петербурге

The lineup will include BAZ-S32A50 dump trucks, S34A10 and S35A10 tractors, and S32A30 and S34A30 flatbed trucks

Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation is launching mass production of heavy all-wheel drive trucks under the legendary BAZ (Bryansk Automobile Plant) brand. Production of the vehicles will begin before the end of autumn 2025 at the former Scania and MAN facilities in the Shushary district of St. Petersburg. The first sales are scheduled for the end of the year, Dmitry Grechukhin, General Director of Romanov JSC, said in an interview with Vedomosti.

The corporation has invested 6.5 billion rubles to revive production. The funds were provided by PSB Bank in the form of a loan. The new project has become part of Almaz-Antey's civilian division, which includes the team previously involved in the development of the E-Neva electric vehicle. Romanov JSC, established in 2024, is responsible for organizing truck production and developing the BAZ lineup.

The plant in Shushary, which previously assembled trucks of European brands, will now become a center of domestic machine building. The company has retained production capacity of up to 2,000 vehicles per year. In 2026, it is planned to produce about 600 units of equipment here. A dealer network of 39 centers throughout Russia has already been created for sales.

All BAZ models will be all-wheel drive and equipped with a three-axle chassis (6×6 configuration). The lineup will include BAZ-S32A50 dump trucks, BAZ-S34A10 and BAZ-S35A10 tractors with one or two sleeping berths, as well as BAZ-S32A30 and BAZ-S34A30 flatbed trucks. The design was developed by the engineering center of the Obukhov Plant, which is part of Almaz-Antey.

Production is being implemented within the framework of a special investment contract signed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the government of St. Petersburg, and the corporation. This will make it possible to compensate for the recycling fee, receive tax benefits, and participate in government support programs.
