The domestic agricultural machinery manufacturer Veles has tested a new development — the high-speed knife roller chopper MK-12 "Britva".
To test the capabilities of the machine, the engineers chose a difficult test — grinding wet sunflower stubble after harvesting. The roller confidently coped with the task: it "shaved off at the root" all the vegetation and left a flat field ready for further processing. Now Veles is conducting an active phase of field tests, clarifying the settings of the unit before launching it into mass production.
The MK-12 "Britva" is designed to operate at speeds up to 25 km/h and has a working width of 12 meters. The weight of the roller is 7800 kg, while the entire weight is distributed over the knives, which ensures maximum efficiency in grinding and mulching crop residues. The machine's productivity reaches 30 hectares per hour.
According to VELES representatives, the new roller will become a universal solution for farmers who need to quickly retain moisture and prepare the soil for sowing. The unit is suitable for working with any stubble — from grain crops to sunflower and corn.
The company emphasizes that the "Britva" is designed taking into account Russian operating conditions: uneven fields, different soil composition and high humidity. At the same time, the machine does not require complex maintenance and can be aggregated with most tractors of domestic and foreign production.
