«Геоскан» и «Гонец» успешно испытали высокоскоростную связь на малых спутниках

Testing on "Geoscan-4" and "Geoscan-5" Confirmed Data Transmission up to 1 Mbps in the S-band

The company "Geoscan", together with JSC "Satellite System "Gonet"" (part of Roscosmos), has successfully conducted tests of high-speed data transmission on small spacecraft. The testing took place on the satellites "Geoscan-4" and "Geoscan-5", launched in the summer of 2025, using transceivers of the "Gonet" system.

During the experiment, a series of communication sessions were conducted in the S-band (2–4 GHz) with various modes and data transmission rates — up to 1 Mbps. The S-band is considered optimal for controlling and managing satellites in orbit, as well as for organizing mobile satellite communications, experts note.

The transceivers have proven their functionality, and we have confirmed the possibility of installing similar equipment on other small devices

He added that further stages of the experiment will provide statistical data necessary for modeling перспективных satellite systems.

One of the stages of testing involves receiving a signal from spacecraft using the ground infrastructure of Roscosmos, which will allow assessing the efficiency of data transmission in real conditions.
