Можно выдохнуть: вспышечная активность на Солнце снижается

Russian astrophysicists call the geomagnetic situation calm

The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences report that solar flare activity remains slightly elevated, but is gradually decreasing. The geomagnetic situation on Earth remains calm, and there are no threats to technology or human health.

Solar flares are classified according to the power of X-ray radiation into five classes: A, B, C, M, and X. Class A0.0 corresponds to the minimum radiation power in Earth's orbit — 10 nanowatts per square meter. Each subsequent class increases the power tenfold. Sometimes flares are accompanied by emissions of solar plasma, which can cause magnetic storms when they reach Earth, but there are no risks in the current period.

Over the past day, geomagnetic activity has been calm, flare activity has been slightly elevated, without threats to satellites and energy systems. The forecast for the coming day is similar: flare activity continues to decline, and the geomagnetic situation remains stable.

Calm space weather means no threats to the operation of satellites, navigation systems, and power grids. At the same time, observing solar flares helps scientists predict future changes in solar activity and prepare for possible magnetic storms.
