Press for processing castings of serial and promising PD-14 and PD-8 engines launched at Ufa enterprise UEC-UMPO

During a working trip, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), Dmitry Yadrov, visited UEC-UMPO, one of the leading enterprises in the domestic industry for the production of aircraft engines. The managing director of the enterprise, Evgeny Semivelichenko, presented the engine creation production cycle to the head of Rosaviatsiya.

During the visit, the head of the agency familiarized himself with the engine production process, visiting the assembly and testing workshops. Special attention was paid to the unique hot isostatic pressing (HIP) section, where the largest press in Russia for processing castings was installed and launched. This equipment ensures the high quality of aircraft engine parts, which are developed and manufactured by the enterprise.

During the visit, the significant role of UEC-UMPO in the implementation of the most important projects of Russian civil aviation was particularly emphasized. The company plays a key role in the production of aircraft engines, in particular, supplying more than a third of the components for the advanced PD-14. In addition, UEC-UMPO is participating in the development of the PD-8 engine for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 and is working on a new AL-41ST-25 industrial engine, two prototypes of which are already undergoing testing in real conditions.
