Mosgortrans has received the first batch of 17 KamAZ-5299 buses of the NefAZ brand — a new modification that has not been previously used in the enterprise system. This was announced on March 17 by the General Director of Mosgortrans, Nikolai Asaul. The buses will be put on suburban routes Moscow — Moscow Region as early as March. In total, under the contract, the company will receive 100 vehicles in this configuration in the spring. The model was specially developed and ordered by Mosgortrans from KamAZ for operation on regional routes. In 2025, 25 routes were launched under the Moscow — Moscow Region project, under which a contract was signed for the supply of over 500 buses of Russian production.
KamAZ-5299 "NefAZ": what has changed in the design for suburban routes
The bus is adapted to the specifics of suburban trips — long hauls with luggage and passengers with limited mobility. The area for strollers and large luggage has been increased, and the aisles between seats and doorways have been widened. Special seats, a folding ramp and driver call buttons are provided for passengers with limited mobility.
The glazing area has been increased — according to Asaul, this gives passengers a better view and more natural light in the cabin. The buses are equipped with climate control, USB charging and media screens.

KamAZ-5299 "NefAZ" is a diesel car. Mosgortrans stated that as the charging infrastructure develops, suburban and regional routes will be able to be served by electric buses. Diesel delivery is a transitional solution until sufficient charging infrastructure appears outside the Moscow Ring Road.
