Mass production of engines for drones has been established in Russia. This was announced by the General Director of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov.
In response to a relevant question, he said the following:
We are already doing it. And mass production is, of course, being done.
Meanwhile, specialists from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) have already begun developing a powerful hybrid power plant for unmanned aerial vehicles.
The goal of the MAI project is to create a power plant for promising air taxis and drones with a payload capacity of over 500 kg. All work is being carried out within the framework of a state grant.
Testing of the technology demonstrator and completion of development work are scheduled for 2026.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that ODK has found a way to reduce the weight of the PD-8 aircraft engine for SJ-100 and Be-200 aircraft.
