Work on the construction of a plant for the production of the new light multi-purpose aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" in Komsomolsk-on-Amur will be completed by 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the region, Dmitry Astafyev.
The project is being implemented as part of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur development plan. Work is already underway on the production building, and connections to the supporting infrastructure are in progress, the minister noted.
Construction work, landscaping, and production licensing are scheduled to be completed in 2026. Aircraft production will begin after the developer completes the testing and certification program.
LMS-901 "Baikal" is a light multi-purpose aircraft designed for use on local airlines and aviation work. The aircraft, produced by the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, is designed to carry up to 2 tons of cargo over a distance of 1.5-3 thousand km or up to nine passengers.
