Trials of the new heavy truck BELAZ-79212, which is designed to replace the railway transporter TK-U model 14-9820, have started at the Belarusian NPP. The specialized vehicle, developed by the Belarusian Automobile Plant at the request of the station, is designed to transport containers with nuclear fuel within the industrial site and is capable of carrying up to 150 tons of cargo.

Movement is provided by a Russian diesel engine with a power of approximately 312 kW, controlled by electronics. The maximum speed of movement with a container is 8 km/h, and without cargo – up to 15 km/h. A constructive feature is the presence of two cabs located at the front and rear, which allows the operator to control the machine in any direction and greatly simplifies maneuvering in confined spaces. In addition, a scheme with seven rows of wheels is used, with five rows being steerable, which provides exceptional maneuverability and the ability to turn around almost on the spot.

The design is based on 14 wheel modules with 28 solid high-elasticity tires with an increased service life.

The heavy truck is equipped with modern braking systems, automatic lubrication, a two-component automatic fire extinguishing system, and a 360-degree video обзор with additional cameras.
