Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that the MC-21-310 and LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft must be ready for mass production no later than the end of 2026.
The head of government emphasized that the MC-21 medium-range narrow-body passenger aircraft and the "Baikal" light multi-purpose aircraft are key projects for Russian aviation, aimed at strengthening independence from foreign supplies.
The MC-21-310 is currently undergoing final testing, while the "Baikal," intended for regional transportation, is in the refinement stage.
However, experts still doubt the feasibility of such plans, given the repeated postponements of mass production of these aircraft.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that14 SSJ-100 aircraft were found to have defects in the fuselage design.
