The Tula-based "Oktava" plant (part of Rostec) presented the first sample of the "Obereg-SN" concealed body armor at the "Engineers of the Future" forum. This was reported by the state corporation's press service.
The new product has passed all tests and demonstrated its effectiveness in protection.
The "Obereg-SN" reliably protects against bullets fired from 9x18 mm and 9x19 Parabellum caliber pistols, as well as from edged weapon attacks. It can withstand fragments from grenades and anti-personnel mines.
At the same time, its weight is very low - from 1.7 kg. The protection area is larger than that of foreign and domestic counterparts, and amounts to more than 40 dm. The equipment is almost invisible under clothing and does not restrict movement.
Rostec noted that the "Obereg-SN" can be useful for the civilian population, including security personnel, bodyguards, business people, and anyone who cares about their safety.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that atransformer body armor "Medoed" has been created for the Russian military.
