The Tula plant "Oktava" (part of Rostec) presented the first sample of the hidden body armor "Obereg-SN" at the forum "Engineers of the Future". This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
The new product has passed all tests and demonstrated its effectiveness in protection.
"Obereg-SN" reliably protects against bullets fired from 9x18 mm and 9x19 Parabellum caliber pistols, as well as from cold weapons. It is able to withstand shrapnel from grenades and anti-personnel mines.
At the same time, its weight is very small — from 1.7 kg. The protection area is larger than that of foreign and domestic counterparts, and is more than 40 dm. The equipment is almost invisible under clothing and does not restrict movement.
Rostec noted that "Obereg-SN" can be useful for the civilian population, including security personnel, bodyguards, businessmen and anyone who cares about their safety.
