TMH-Electrotech Company Revealed How Many Engines One "Ivolga 4.0" Receives

Twenty domestic DTA-380U1 traction electric units are installed on one 11-car train

Each 11-car electric train "Ivolga 4.0" is equipped with 20 DTA-380U1 traction electric motors of Russian production. This was reported by TMH-Electrotech, the company that has been manufacturing these engines since 2023.

The 380 kW traction drive is designed for train operation at speeds up to 160 km/h. The use of asynchronous motors reduces energy consumption and increases service intervals. They also provide high acceleration and braking performance, which is especially important for routes with short distances between stops and intensive passenger traffic in large cities.

DTA-380U1 engines are produced from Russian components. The model is included in the register of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Recall that in December 2025, a new section for assembling asynchronous traction electric motors was put into operation at the TMH-Electrotech plant in electric machine assembly shop No. 1. The section is equipped with two engine rotators and an overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 5 tons, which allowed for the automation and optimization of key assembly stages. Now, DTA-380U1 engines for Ivolga 4.0 electric trains (manufactured by Tver Carriage Works) and DTA-170 for subway cars are assembled in the dedicated area.
