Successful tests of the sealed reactor compartment containment for density and strength have been carried out at the first unit of the Ruppur nuclear power plant. This was reported by the press service of the Rosatom State Corporation.
A number of operations carried out during these tests are unique and are carried out once, only after the completion of construction and installation work in the reactor building. The results confirm that the containment system fully complies with all design and regulatory requirements. This is an important step towards commissioning the first power unit and evidence of the high quality of work at all stages of construction.
During the tests, the pressure inside the containment was increased to 4.6 kgf/cm² (approximately 0.45 MPa). This made it possible to check the ability of the equipment to withstand internal loads that occur in abnormal modes.
Earlier www1.ru reported that equipment of power unit No. 1 was tested at the Ruppur NPP.
