KamAZ-6520 with 6x4 wheel arrangement will be discontinued

PJSC "KAMAZ" has announced plans to replace the K3 line of trucks with models from the K5 family. The first to be discontinued is the KamAZ-6520 dump truck with a 6x4 wheel arrangement, although the K3 line will remain in production until at least 2028.

The dump truck will be replaced by the already available KamAZ-6595 model, available in 6x4, 6x6, and 8x4 versions, which will allow it to compete with Chinese dump trucks, such as Shacman, which previously dominated the market.

The plant continued to locally modernize the KamAZ K3: six months ago, changes were made to the cab, axles of three-axle chassis, and the engine. Interestingly, the KamAZ-6520 dump trucks were updated two years ago, but this did not help to withstand the onslaught of the "Chinese".

At the same time, the bestseller KamAZ-43118, despite its age, will remain in production due to the lack of alternatives and unique qualities among all-wheel drive models.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the technical readiness factor of fifth-generation KamAZ vehicles has increased to 95%. This was achieved through a comprehensive improvement in service, expansion of the dealer network, and improvement in product quality.
