The 24th set of MC-21 semi-fuselages was successfully laid down at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant in new assembly and assembly production (ASP) stations. Two new stations, PF20 and PF30, for workshop 246 were manufactured and assembled at IAZ; the first is designed to work with the front semi-fuselage of the passenger aircraft, and the second with the rear.
Now there are a total of five stations in workshop 246; the plant has completed a key task to align the assembly cycles in ASP for mass production. Operators have already been assigned to the new stations and will work on them.
In the new stations, detailed assembly of the walls and diaphragms, installation of the assembled walls on the fuselage, and installation of the beams will be carried out on the semi-fuselages.
Also, a fitting of new air intakes will be carried out on the front semi-fuselage at this stage. After completion of the work, the units will be sent for стыковку, and their place will be taken by the semi-fuselages of the next MC-21 set.
