ОАК скоро начнет летные испытания SSJ-100 New с отечественными двигателями ПД-8: новая эра для российской авиации начинается в 2025 году

The PD-8 engine takes the Russian Superjet to a new level of localization

In 2025, UAC plans to begin flight tests of two SSJ-100 New aircraft equipped with domestic PD-8 engines. These aircraft, which are a deep modernization of the SSJ-100 model, are intended to replace the Franco-Russian SaM146 engines that were used in the original versions of the Superjet 100. Currently, the aircraft are undergoing testing of the passenger cabin and equipment, as well as preparation for the installation of Russian engines.

It is expected that these aircraft will perform approximately 200 test flights in 2025. After the completion of flight tests in 2026, mass production of the SSJ-100 New will be organized, and UAC plans to produce up to 30 such aircraft per year. These aircraft are expected to become the main element of Russian aviation, replacing foreign aircraft such as Boeing and Airbus, which are gradually losing their presence in the country's market.

The import substitution process in the aviation industry will also affect components and systems. Domestic analogues are being created for more than 200 components for the SSJ-100 New, and by 2026 this number will increase to 59. At the same time, maintenance of existing aircraft with SaM146 engines continues, which remain in service with airlines.

This transition to domestic components and aircraft is driven not only by political and economic circumstances, but also by the growing need for new airliners amid a shortage of foreign aircraft and increasing demand for transportation. In 2026, according to experts, the shortage of the aircraft fleet will be noticeable, which makes it important to deploy mass production of new Russian aircraft as quickly as possible.
