An experimental legal regime for drone testing is being launched in Russia. For now, by the decision of the Cabinet, it only operates at sites in the Moscow and Tver regions.
The tests will take place on the territory of the Alferovo airfield near Moscow and the Orlovka airfield in Tver.
According to the terms of the Aerologistics technology competition, specialists will test various types of drones, including heavy ones weighing more than 30 kg.
16 UAV manufacturers have already applied to participate in the competition.
EPR for drones in Russia
The experimental regime will help to see in practice how drones can operate in the same space as manned aircraft.
Drones are waiting for a series of tests. For example, in one of them it will be necessary to deliver parcels weighing up to 50 kg over distances from 500 to 1200 km in various weather conditions. At the same time, you will need to make several landings at checkpoints.
Based on the test results at these sites, it will be clear what requirements are needed for UAVs in terms of key technologies for precise autonomous landing, dynamic routing, detection and remote identification.
A system for automatic collision avoidance of unmanned and manned aircraft will also be developed.
