The air conditioning system on the SSJ-100 is quite complex and interesting compared to other aircraft systems. The "Superjet Technician" told about the tricky air distribution system in the aircraft.
According to him, air enters the aircraft cabin in a 70%/30% ratio - part of the fresh air and part of the recirculated air are mixed and supplied to passengers.
Direct supply is carried out from the lower surface of the luggage racks, which is 20% of the total air supplied. The remaining 80% are supplied through diffusers in the upper part of the luggage racks.

This distribution allows you to create comfortable conditions at the level of passengers' heads. The very design of air distribution and supply was developed taking into account noise reduction.
Engineers have applied a number of design solutions - all pipelines are made of non-metallic materials, and their dimensions are calculated, based on the conditions of maintaining an air velocity of no more than 10 m/s in them. In aggregate, this significantly reduced the noise from the air supply system to the passenger cabin.
Passenger comfort is paramount
Air is removed through decorative panels located in the lower part at the passengers' feet. They differ in color scheme from the light-colored side cladding panels.
The whole system is quite well thought out, because the speed of recirculation above the heads of passengers does not exceed 0.4 m/s, which means that it is not felt by passengers and does not cause them discomfort.
In addition, the temperature difference in the transverse, longitudinal or vertical directions does not exceed 3 °C, which indicates proper recirculation and uniform distribution of air flow throughout the passenger compartment.
