The «Voronezh Transformer» plant has successfully assembled the active part of the traction transformer for the «Moscow-St. Petersburg» high-speed trains. This was reported by the press service of the enterprise.
This is a key component — the «energy core» of the future train. Inside is a complex system of windings and a magnetic core that will allow the train to reach speeds of up to 400 km/h.
The traction transformer is a critical component that provides power to locomotives. After the assembly of the key component is completed, it will be transferred to the customer for comprehensive testing on a prototype train. They will begin in April 2026.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways plans to allocate 120 billion rubles for the HSR-1 «Moscow — St. Petersburg».
