Documents for the PD-8 aircraft engine have been submitted for expert review to Rosaviatsiya. After their verification and approval, the agency will decide on issuing a type certificate, the Ministry of Transport's press service reported.
Recall that PD-8 tests as part of aircraft began in 2025. During this time, the power plants have accumulated over 6500 hours. Prolonged operation was also simulated during 150-hour tests.
ODK Head Alexander Grachev explained that technologies that did not exist in Russia before were created for the PD-8. Thanks to this, the specific fuel consumption of the power plant was reduced.
Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" conducted a direct comparison of the PD-8 with the French-Russian SaM146, which the engine was developed to replace.
