The Ministry of Defense showed detailed footage of the installation of the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missile on the MiG-31I fighter. The video shows the under-fuselage area of the interceptor and the specifics of holding the massive munition.

First, the Kinzhal was rolled up to the MiG-31I on a low-profile mechanized trolley. It should be noted that the design of the combat aircraft's airframe provides for a semi-recessed placement scheme.

That is, the missile is not simply suspended from below, but partially goes deep into the fuselage between the engine air ducts. This is important for maintaining aerodynamics at speeds up to 3000 km/h.

Then a Ministry of Defense engineer adjusted the Kh-47M2 power stabilization unit. Using a special tool, the technician tightened a massive nut with a ratchet wheel, which eliminates play and firmly clamps the stoppers.

Such a unit eliminates vibrations and swaying of the multi-ton structure during takeoff and sharp maneuvers of the fighter.

Kinzhal complexes entered regular combat duty in the Aerospace Forces in August 2022. Despite this, there is still no official information about the combat system.
