The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed expanding the experiment on electronics labeling. From December 1, 2026, cash registers, computers, household appliances, and dozens of other types of devices may be included. The draft government decree stipulates that the experiment will last until May 31, 2028.

The list of goods is extensive. It includes ATMs, coin sorting and counting machines, calculating machines and calculators, computers, and data input, output, and storage equipment. The experiment also proposes labeling game consoles, telecommunications equipment, fans, air conditioners, electrical signaling and traffic control systems, microscopes, and diffraction apparatus.
The launch dates for the experiment have already changed. In the summer of 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced plans to extend the experiment to 2027 and expand the list of products. At that time, labeling was planned to start in September 2026 and the experiment to conclude on August 31, 2027.
Mandatory labeling of certain types of radio electronics has been in effect in Russia since March 1, 2026. So far, it applies to laptops, smartphones, and other telephone sets.
The experiment started in December 2023 with sockets, lamps, and lighting equipment, a total of 15 types of products. In 2024, labeling of laptops and smartphones along with phones, tablets, and printed circuit boards became part of a pilot project involving 70 companies. Separate labeling deadlines were set for different categories. In the spring of 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed making labeling of some electronics mandatory from December 1 of the same year.
Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said at the "Microelectronics 2026" forum that data from the labeling system is planned to be compared with other state information systems. This will allow verifying the origin of components of Russian electronics and the actual localization of production declared when products are included in the register of domestic goods.
