The domestic aircraft industry has reached a level in recent years that allows it to solve any task, including building a new wide-body aircraft. This opinion was expressed by Anatoly Gaidansky, Director of the Yakovlev Engineering Center.
According to him, the development of the MC-21-310 proved that Russia is capable of building airliners of this level completely independently. The industry has created new competencies and factories that have turned into a powerful cooperation.
That is, if there is now a task to make a wide-body long-haul aircraft - we will already be able to easily cope with this task.
Recall that the only wide-body aircraft in Russia that can theoretically be used in civil air transportation is the Il-96-400M, which is still undergoing tests. However, for now, companies are in no hurry to order the airliner.
