An explosion occurred during tests at the laboratory of the Aerospace Faculty of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNIPU) on December 10, 2025. This was reported by the Telegram channels Baza and Shot. According to preliminary data, two people died, including a child, and two more were injured.
According to sources, the incident was caused by the depressurization of a hydrodynamic stand designed for research on fluid and gas flows. At the time of the tests, the director of the company that developed the installation and his daughter were in the laboratory. They sustained fatal injuries.
Mash clarifies that the man brought the girl to show her the tests. According to the channel, the cause of the explosion was a violation of safety regulations: during the test, a metal disk that was spun to a speed of about 7.9 km per second ruptured.
According to the university's press service, two more injured people are in moderate condition, and one more refused hospitalization. Law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case.
