Production is deployed at the "Romanov" plant in the "Shushary" industrial zone in the south of St. Petersburg. New all-wheel drive heavy chassis and BAZ trucks with independent suspension will be assembled here. At the first stage, it is planned to produce at least 200 vehicles.

The new models are designed to replace European counterparts that have left the Russian market, including the "big seven" brands — Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, MAN, DAF, Iveco and Renault Trucks.

The project is being implemented within the framework of a special investment contract between the Government of St. Petersburg, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and JSC "Romanov". The "Romanov" plant is part of the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan Region concern, and the BAZ line itself is a completely domestic development. The company has already received Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) for the new trucks.
