The Russian government has decided to expand special economic zones (SEZ) in the Sverdlovsk, Voronezh, and Nizhny Novgorod regions. This will attract new investments of more than 28 billion rubles for the implementation of new projects. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The area of the "Titanium Valley" SEZ in the Sverdlovsk region will increase to 635.7 hectares due to the land of the former metallurgical plant in Alapaevsk. This will create more than 1,000 new jobs.
In the Voronezh SEZ "Center", it is planned to build a steel plant, a grain processing plant, and an enterprise for painting aluminum profiles. In the Nizhny Novgorod SEZ "Kulibin", production of building materials, modular houses, as well as projects in the field of food and logistics will be launched. SEZ residents receive tax preferences, customs benefits, and reduced rental payments.
Earlier, the Russian government proposed a draft law on additional support for residents of free economic zones (FEZ) in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. New measures include simplifying access to government procurement and expanded access to preferential loans from the Industrial Development Fund.
