Russia Sends "Pantsir" SAM Systems to Venezuela and May Provide "Oreshnik"

Deputy Zhuravlev stated that Russia's international obligations do not limit this

As part of military-technical cooperation with Venezuela, Russia has transferred Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) and S-300VM Buk-M2E to the republic, according to State Duma deputy Aleksey Zhuravlev.

The parliamentarian recalled that Russian Su-30MK2 fighters are the basis of the Venezuelan Air Force, which makes it one of the most powerful aviation powers in the region.

The supply of several divisions of S-300VM (Antey-2500) significantly strengthened the country's ability to cover important facilities from air attacks. According to the latest information, Russian Pantsir-S1 and Buk-M2E systems were delivered to Caracas by transport Il-76 literally the other day.

Zhuravlev added that nothing prevents Russia from supplying Venezuela with the latest weapons. However, information about the volumes and exact names of what is being brought from Russia is secret.

I see no obstacles to supplying our friendly country with such new developments as "Oreshnik" or, say, the well-proven "Caliber". No international obligations limit Russia in this.
Aleksey Zhuravlev, deputy

As a reminder, information appeared on the Web that the Russian military transport Il-76 had brought a secret cargo to Venezuela at least twice.

And very recently, the Venezuelan Air Force showed footage of two Su-30MK2 fighters flying with suspended Kh-31 missiles of Russian production

Earlier www1.ru reported that "Burevestnik" turned out to be more dangerous than it initially seemed.
