After the change of ownership, the Volga-Dnepr Group intends to purchase Tu-214 aircraft manufactured by the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of Tupolev PJSC of Rostec).

The buyer plans to request government permission to export nine Boeing 747-8s from the ABC fleet in order to return them to lessors.

The remaining Boeing aircraft of the group may be bought from foreigners and returned to flights. In addition, the company also plans to integrate Il-96-400, Tu-204 and Tu-214, manufactured at KAZ, into its fleet. However, the source did not specify where the company intends to acquire them.

The former CEO of Zhukovsky Airport and Red Wings airline, Evgeny Solodilin, who is calledthe likely new owner of the group, intends to return the aircraft arrested abroad to Russia and restore flights of the remaining foreign aircraft.

The assets of Volga-Dnepr are currently estimated at 25 billion rubles. At the same time, the approximate market value of all non-flying vessels of the group is estimated at one billion dollars.

In September, the Kazan Aviation Plant began assembling the second Tu-214 in three years. Aviation expert Alexei Zakharov clarified thatthe cost of each aircraft will be prohibitively high if KAZ continues to produce Tu-214 in single units.
