Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko announced that over 60 airports and dozens of airlines, including foreign ones, have implemented domestic software. The development was carried out within the framework of industrial competence centers created to replace critical foreign software.
According to Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin, the transition to Russian IT solutions has become a key step for the independence of civil aviation. Modern information systems support a wide range of processes: from flight planning and cargo management to aircraft maintenance.
A special feature of the project was that the transition went almost unnoticed by passengers. Industrial competence centers provided the aviation market with a "seamless" replacement of foreign products, maintaining uninterrupted transportation. Work is currently ongoing: new systems are being developed for specific industry tasks, including digital logistics and predictive aircraft maintenance.
At the end of April, Aeroflot reported a complete transition to domestic software. Replacing the American Sabre IX platform with the Russian Platform V from SberTech allowed the airline to reduce the time to implement new services, reduce the load on the support team by five times, and perform updates without stopping systems.
On July 28, 2025, Aeroflot faced a hacker attack that caused a failure in the company's information systems. This resulted in the cancellation of dozens of flights within Russia and abroad, the formation of queues at airports, etc. The next day, the carrier announced the stabilization of the schedule.
