Su-35S crews are armed with four new R-77M air-to-air missiles of long and medium range, long-range R-37M air-to-air missiles, and Kh-31PD anti-radar missiles.

The R-77M missile eliminates the gap in the strike power of the Russian Aerospace Forces from American ammunition of the same class, the AIM-120D, the range of which, when launched at an echelon of 13,500 m, can reach 180 - 190 km.

The R-77M features an "airframe" aerodynamic configuration with flat tail aerodynamic rudders and a lifting wing with a small chord. Maximum speed is up to 4900 - 5100 km/h, maximum range is up to 190 km, estimated altitude of intercepted targets is up to 30000 m.
